qsont is a small independent service operated by a sole practitioner. This policy explains what information is collected, how it is used, and what you can ask me to do with it.
Two kinds of information
This policy covers two different situations, because they carry different obligations:
- Information you send me , when you contact me or request a Free Review.
- Publicly available information about a business , which I may review before any contact takes place.
Both are described below.
1. Information you provide
If you contact me by email or request a Free Review, I receive whatever you choose to send: typically your name, email address, firm name, website, and the contents of your message.
How I use it
To respond to you, prepare the Free Review you asked for, discuss or provide qsont services, and keep ordinary business records.
I do not sell your personal information. I share information only as reasonably necessary to operate qsont, provide a requested Free Review or service, or comply with law. Service providers may include website hosting, form processing, email, file storage, and AI-assisted tools.
AI-assisted tools
I may use third-party AI services to help review publicly available information, organize findings, draft or translate material, and prepare a Free Review or qsont work. Information processed by these services may include information you submit and public information about your firm. I do not use AI to make automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects about you.
2. Research from public sources
A Free Review reviews information that is already publicly available about a business: its website, public listings and profiles, published projects, press coverage, awards entries, reviews, and other public-facing material.
To be clear about how this works:
- I may review a firm's public information before any contact takes place. This is how I decide whether the service is relevant to that firm and what a Free Review would say.
- I use publicly accessible sources only. I do not access accounts, dashboards, analytics, or anything requiring a password or permission.
- I do not contact a firm's clients, staff, or suppliers as part of a check.
- Findings about a specific firm go to that firm. Aggregate patterns across multiple firms may be described publicly, but individual firms are not named or made identifiable.
- You can ask me to stop. If you'd prefer I not research or contact your firm, email info@qsont.com and I'll delete what I've gathered and remove you from any outreach.
3. Website data
My hosting provider processes basic technical information needed to deliver and secure this site, such as IP addresses and server request logs. This site does not currently use analytics or advertising cookies, collect payment information, or create user accounts. If that changes, this policy will be updated.
4. Service providers and international processing
qsont is operated from the United States. Information may be processed or stored in the United States and in other countries where the service providers I use operate. These providers may support website hosting, forms, email, file storage, and AI-assisted work.
When applicable data-protection law requires safeguards for an international transfer, I rely on the transfer mechanism or safeguards made available by the relevant service provider or otherwise required by law.
5. Retention
I keep correspondence and business records only as long as reasonably useful for the purpose they were provided, plus any period required by legal obligations or normal business administration. Research on a firm I never end up working with is deleted once it's clear there's no engagement.
6. Your rights
You may ask me what personal information I hold about you, ask me to correct it, ask me to delete it, or object to how I'm using it, including asking me not to contact you again.
For individuals and businesses in Mexico: under the Ley Federal de Protecci贸n de Datos Personales en Posesi贸n de los Particulares (LFPDPPP), you may exercise your ARCO rights: acceso, rectificaci贸n, cancelaci贸n y oposici贸n (access, rectification, cancellation, and opposition). To do so, email info@qsont.com with your request and enough information for me to identify the records concerned. I'll respond within the timeframes the law requires.
For individuals in the UK or European Economic Area (EEA): where UK GDPR or EU GDPR applies to the processing of your personal information, you may have additional rights, including access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection, and data portability, depending on the circumstances and the legal basis for the processing. You may also have the right to complain to the data-protection authority where you live or work. In the UK, this is the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO). You can contact me first at info@qsont.com to exercise a right or raise a concern.
I'll act on any request unless I'm legally entitled or required to retain or continue processing something, and I'll tell you if that's the case.
7. Changes
If this policy changes, the effective date above will change with it. Material changes will be noted on this page.
